This wedding story is neither funny nor romantic but unique.
An upcoming family wedding was taking place and the father of the bride whose ethics I thought were a trifle skewed, took the entire responsibility for the full wedding. At the time I had a premonition that this was just bluff and he could not assume this burden. Unfortunately I was correct in this assumption. He was a total fake, phony and had no integrity at all. He had in fact, several days prior to the wedding cancelled the entire event. Unbeknownst to us, and everyone else who was in transit at the time. We came to the rescue, with the entire payment due and the wedding went off with no one the wiser.
This experience was so unpleasant and upsetting that it was impossible to enjoy the celebration. An act that would have won an oscar was required. It will remain forever as one of the worst ever surprises of a lifetime.
