Letter from Stroke Survivor Alice Naquin


Dear Ms. Haines, 

 

I want to thank you for your books.  I suffered a major stroke at the age of 53, 3 years ago.  After the stroke, I could not read. I have had to teach myself to read again and I have done so with the help of your books. It has been hard work, but your books made it easier. They are so interesting that I am pushed to continue reading even when I am tired. I am a lifelong Mississippi girl and delight in the authenticity of the things you write about the state and the Delta. I also enjoy the humor you throw in. I have never written to an author before, but I needed to thank you for helping me learn to read again.
