This is a true story and it is mine … At our wedding rehearsal 25 years ago, everyone left the church and headed to the rehearsal dinner except me and my husband to be.  I don’t know why we dilly dallied so long, but everyone had left in their cars.  The wedding was in Houston at a church off Memorial Drive, anyway we were in my Buick Regal.  I rarely drove the car because I also had a company car and unbeknownst to me, the gas gauge was not registering correctly.   So we get in the car and start out to the restaurant, sputter, sputter, spew, and poof, no gas.   We coast into the parking lot of a grocery store a little ways away and wait.  Of course, this is before cell phones,  we’ll needless to say, everyone at the restaurant was wondering where we were and what we might be doing … had we eloped? Been in an accident? Turns out the wedding coordinator stopped at the same grocery store and saw us befuddled about our predicament and about that time the best man came looking for us.   With very sheepish grins on our faces, we were rescued and taken to the rehearsal dinner, where everyone was quite relieved to see us walk in very fashionably late.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Hope you like the story well enough to send me a copy of Revenant.

Thanks so much,
