This is a true story!

I am a born and bred Mississippi girl, who met and briefly dated “Morgan” while living with my aunt and uncle in Hattiesburg when I was 19. Circumstances took me back to Columbus where my mother was living at the time and Morgan and I lost touch……years later I was a student at Belhaven College in Jackson and happen to run in to Morgan one night while sipping on a Budweiser at CS’s café. We quickly became friends all over again and began to hang out together. He had a friend named “Don,” a motion picture 1st assistant cameraman who happen to be out of town filming “Mississippi Burning.” Morgan was taking care of Don’s Labradors (Courtney and Bree) while he was away working…..I tagged along with him everyday for a couple of weeks going to Don’s apartment to care for the dogs. Finally, one day we arrived at Don’s and he was sitting in the back yard reading the Clarion Ledger and sipping on a Budweiser. Morgan introduced me to Don and then Don to me – the first words he uttered were “I’m going to marry you one day!” My immediate reply was “You are full of shit!” This happened on an August day in 1988. Our first date was in January 1989 when we actually went to the movies to see Mississippi Burning – we have been married since October 1989.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction……
